If you do a quick search on Google then you will learn that replacement costs are usually around 200-300 USD. Repair costs vary depending on what is being replaced: motor and mirror, just the motor or maybe even other parts I do not know of. This year I think the D700 needs a new AF motor but I'm hoping I'm wrong.īought mine when it was release, Im at 6800 clicks. Judging by the fact that I shoot it quite a bit as my backup I'd have to venture a guess of between 85 and 90,000. The last photo I uploaded to flickr from my D700 says it's a bit over 80,000. There's plenty of life in the average D700 shutter. If your shutter was replace, what was the cost? This can be an aid in buying a used D700 since everyone want to know the actuation.
